People at Prometheus: Dani Cook

As Prometheus Group continues to grow, we're pleased to showcase some members of our incredible global team who are proud to share in our journey of bringing digital transformation to the enterprise asset management space. This month’s employee spotlight shines on our Sales Engineering Manager Danielle Cook, who is based out of our Brisbane, Australia office.

Danielle joined our sales team back in 2017, working with various clients to find the best solutions to fit their organizations. Get to know Dani!

1. What can you tell us about your role at Prometheus Group and your day-to-day activities?

My days as an APAC Sales Engineering Manager have a big range. I do anything from customer site check-ins to ensure customers are getting the most out of our software, to working with clients and prospects to uncover pain points. This is one of my favorite elements of the job: getting to know our users and working together to figure out what they need and where their past solutions let them down. I love to get into the detail of what their daily work looks like, what’s costing them precious time, where they’re seeing their end users struggle and what success would look like to them. I also provide details and demonstrations on how Prometheus Group’s solutions can help them.

2. How did you come to be a part of Prometheus Group?

I became part of Prometheus Group after they acquired a company called Sage Technology back in 2017! It’s now been more than four years since the acquisition and I’m really grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had with Prometheus Group during that time, including moving to the Brisbane office in sunny Queensland. We're lucky enough to have just moved into a nice big new office with river views in Newstead.

3. What experiences do you feel set you up for success before joining Prometheus Group?

Before I worked for Sage Technology, I was an Analyst for ASIC, which serves as the national corporate regulator here in Australia. I come from a background of working in software and customer service. This experience in has set me up with a hunger to always be learning more about our solutions, as well as always keeping the customers in mind when considering the new features in solutions.

That’s why Prometheus Group develops and enhances almost all of the solutions in the Prometheus Platform based on learnings from our customers, feedback we pick up along the way, discussions had at the Prometheus Group User Conference and discoveries made with our strategic partners. That’s our north star: continually moving the tools in the direction our customers want.

4. Tell us about the team you work with at Prometheus Group and their industry knowledge and experience.

The team that I work with at Prometheus Group has a range of different knowledge and experience across many different areas. From electrical/chemical engineers, SAP experts, all the way through to the team who develops the software. It’s a pleasure to work alongside colleagues with decades of experience in so many different areas. You learn something new each day.

5. How does Prometheus Group’s customer-centric mantra integrate into your day-to-day?

Customer interaction forms a big part of my role, this ranges all the way from longtime customers using our systems for decades, all the way through to brand new customers.  I value each customer interaction I have, as I get to learn more about their business and how we can help them, as well as what ideas they have for additional functionality in our solutions.

6. What challenges are customers bringing forward when working with you?

Some of the most common challenges that we see customers bringing forward stem from using a paper-based permitting system instead of a digital one. The challenges caused by this include permits not ready for contractors who come to site, not knowing if permit holders are qualified for the work on the permit, no audit trails, chasing up multiple approvals for permits, no visibility into what work is currently taking place and what simultaneous operations to consider.

7. What, in your opinion, are some best practices that remedy these challenges?

Implementing a digital permitting system which allows for visibility into the who, what, when, where, and why of all permits. This allows all users involved with the permitting process to have visibility into the system. This then alleviates all those challenges mentioned by providing a central system to access this information in real-time. In addition to the digital permitting solution is an integrated permitting mobility solution, allowing in-the-field actions and execution of work to occur with real-time updates back into the system to gain efficiencies.

Customers are telling us that they wish they had implemented the Prometheus Platform sooner, and that’s one of the best things that we could hope to hear from them. Their PTW system is smooth, efficient, and giving the users better ways to use their time.

8. What do you feel is unique about Prometheus Group? Or what is your favorite part about working here?

My favorite part about working at Prometheus Group is the variety! Whether it’s a new customer, new industry, or new solutions and functionality, there is something different every single day!

9. Tell us a fun fact about you (not work-related!).

I love to snowboard and have been snowboarding for about 12 years now – this often surprises people as I live in Australia… Fun fact, it does actually snow here! I’ve been lucky enough to travel and snowboard on a few different mountains around the world! I try to go at least a few times a year, but that’s been harder during the pandemic and living a few states away from any snow resorts. Luckily in Queensland there is plenty of adventurous activities to keep me busy like hiking, kayaking and scuba diving!
